GOOD STUFF September 5, 2010 Steven D. Decoste (CALIFORNIA) LOOKS REALLY NICE. NOW I WISH THE REST OF THE TRUCK TURNED OUT THE SAME....
Prepare carefully and reap rewards August 9, 2010 Vijay Krishna (WA, USA) I bought this product to coat the bed of my S10 pickup. I finished coating the surface yesterday (08-08-2010) and i am quite pleased with the results.
Firstly, let me state that preparation is 90% of the work and results are directly proportional to the amount of preparation done. Definitely use a pair of latex gloves as the stuff is almost impossible to get off the skin once dry.
I cant emphasis enough the benefit of preparing teh surface. Use a coarse grit sander to scruff up the surface. Make sure there are no glossy areas anywhere. Any glossy areas will not hold the coating. I cannot emphasise this enough. This is the most crucial part of the process. Do not use the scotchbrite pad in the kit as it is of little use on automotive paints. Take care to thoroughly sand the vertical and slanted surfaces of the bed as the coating will slide off the surface if its not rough enough.
Once the coating is dry (12-15 hours) the surface finish is very elegant. The coating seems to hold up well against regular use. I use my truck for commuting, moving and other such light/medium uses. The total time for preparing and applying is around 5 hours. If you have a power tool for sanding the surface, the results will be superior to hand sanding. Make sure to mask off areas as the thing is impossible to remove after applied, without damaging the paint. 6ft bed needs 1 gal, 8ft bed needs 1 gal and 1 qrt. I recommeed this product.
Second time around May 2, 2010 B. J. Tilley (Central Tennessee) This is the second time I have used this product. The first use (about two years ago) The product seems as if it wasn't too durable. Several times when dropping tools in the bed of the truck chips in the liner was the result. This last application I made to a different truck the liner seems a lot tougher. This is much better than paying for the liners that are applied by someone else. Just as everyone says it is a bit messy and the can needs to be stirred regularly. I found that using duck tape instead of masking tape made the removal of the tape much easier. I am super pleased with the results and with the price. The Ace hardware place that shipped the liner left a bit to be desired so I deducted one star.
Herculiner October 12, 2009 J. C. Tsang Great in compare to have other vendors taking care of this.
Price is right!
Really great product September 13, 2009 R. Dold I used this on my 2004 Toyota Tacoma. I have always preferred a mat over a liner and still do, but the Herculiner brush-on product provides excellent side wall protection. It was easy to use and has held up great. I had some left over and put it on sloped plywood ramps on my shed...no more slipping! So, bottom line is that it works and is a great value.
